[opensuse-gnome] GNOME 2.30 LiveCD?
Hey, Do we have anybody working on a GNOME 2.30 LiveCD? (it'd be based on openSUSE 11.2, I guess) It's really something where openSUSE can lead, so it'd be a shame to not do it :-) Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

I guess using Suse Studio it would be simple to create a live CD... Certainly not yet 2.30, but up to 2.29.92 should be possible (as much as there is released). It's mostly ready (with 3 packages missing due to dependencies not yet released). Shall I have a look if I can create one ? I'm all for investigating this. And it would probably help find issues: some apps might not be 100% working on 11.2... A GNOME 3.x live CD would be very cool. -- Adam Tauno Williams <awilliam@whitemice.org> LPIC-1, Novell CLA <http://www.whitemiceconsulting.com> OpenGroupware, Cyrus IMAPd, Postfix, OpenLDAP, Samba -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Gnome 2.30 != gnome 3 even though that was anticipated for a while to happen. But as I understood with the current schedule it's still a while until gnome 3. Nevertheless, having a gnome3 CD as well should not be that much of an issue (considering that we have the packages in their current state in the repos). Can't you use the official 11.2 GNOME CD as base for that? It's created in the openSUSE Build Service (ask Coolo for details), Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Program Manager openSUSE, aj@{novell.com,opensuse.org} Twitter: jaegerandi | Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

Yep, that's what we did in the past. But it still needs some small work, and more importantly, testing :-) Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org
