[opensuse-gnome] Desktop Policy Review
Hi, Here's my attempt to not forget another time to send a call for review :-) Some time ago, I collected a list of settings we change in the default configuration: http://en.opensuse.org/GNOME/Desktop_Policy Please take a look at this list and comment it. There are some settings that clearly shouldn't be changed anymore (sticky notes settings, eg). If we can reduce this list, it'd be great! Note that it's not totally complete since it's mainly gconf settings right now. I'm sure there are other places where default settings are changed and that I missed (eg, patches which changes a behavior), so please help by completing the list. Hi, I have one consistency suggestion: epiphany /apps/epiphany/general/homepage should be set to to www.opensuse.org as done in Firefox and Konqueror. Same for other browsers. The homepage might change in all browsers. At least there is a discussion about it but yes the homepage should be the same for all browsers. Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

I think it would be much better to have a local, static page installed and point all browsers to that page, which will include links to all openSUSE sites as well as to local documentation, a getting started guide, etc. That way, you don't need inet access to get started with the newly-installed system -- Rodrigo Moya <rodrigo@novell.com> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

+1 I believe this is a similar idea to what the new Helper/Greeter will do. Beineri is best placed to advise on the Helper/Greeter situation. -- Andrew Wafaa, openSUSE Member: GNOME Team. awafaa@opensuse.org | http://opensuse.org/GNOME openSUSE: Get It, Discover It, Create It at http://www.opensuse.org http://www.wafaa.eu -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org
