Re: [opensuse-gnome] Gnome 3.6 cannot switch user
I noticed that. In the changelog for 3.6.0 it says that when they removed gdmflexiserver they did it because the new user switch would use libgdm. But there is no libgdm in the 3.6.0 gdm rpm.... Is user switching working for anyone on 3.6.0..? Valerio On Tue, Oct 23, 2012 at 4:21 PM, <dominique@leuenberger.net> wrote:
Hi.
gdmfleciserver was removed from the 3.6 tarballs by upstream... And re-introduced in 3.6.1 which is currently bring staged and should be published soon.
Best regards, Dominique

Dear All,
I think I figured out why I cannot switch user in GNOME 3.6. The gdmflexiserver binary seems to be absent from the gdm package. In my other box which runs Archlinux, I see that this file is included in the gdm package. Is there a reason for it not to be included in OpenSUSE?
Thank you for your help
Valerio

libgdm is split to an own package (just as gdmflexiserver was at the time) and is called libgdm1 (following the shared library packaging guidelines). On openSUSE, where we currently still use ConsoleKit, user switching does not work with gdm 3.6.0. I published 3.6.1 and hope there won't be new issues coming up... that would be a shame.
