[opensuse-gnome] package: gnome-video-arcade
Hi all, A quick question, I've packaged gnome-video-arcade[1] from a git snapshot, which already supports GTK3. I need a project for this application which is basically a front-end for MAME (a multi system emulator) and was considering GNOME:Apps for it. This will raise a small problem, we need sdlmame on factory. This does sounds interesting for GNOME in openSUSE ? FYI - I see that packman already packages this http://packman.links2linux.org/package/gnome-video-arcade -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org
I haven't checked it... then there's not really need for this :) package dropped :) 2011/4/25 Bjørn Lie <bjorn.lie@gmail.com>:

No, it just means we should talk to the person in packman working on it to see if it can be moved in OBS :-) Vincent

The version on packman is 0.7.1 (gtk2), the one I've got on my home project already supports GTK3. Also the version on packman was compiled for support with mame, and mine for sdlmame (as we don't have mame available, only sdlmame). I'll talk to Pascal when I see him online :) NM

I'm the maintainer of both mame and gnome-video-arcade at Packman. sdlmame as a separate project is dead and has been merged into mainstream MAME. MAME is not free software, specifically "... redistributions may not be sold, nor may they be used in a commercial product or activity" (see http://mamedev.org/legal.html). According to http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_application_blacklist hosting such a package is not allowed in OBS and even the legality of doing so is IMO at least questionable. Nevertheless there seem to be a number of mame packages available in home projects and Emulators. -- Guido Berhoerster -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org
