[opensuse-gnome] Schemas patches
Hi, I've done some script shell magic to get a list of patches that changes the schemas files in packages. There are 51 such patches (there's some false positives in there, but it's not a big deal). I've put them here: http://en.opensuse.org/GNOME/Projects/SchemasChanges It's a bit overlapping with the patches upstreaming project, but the captain convinced me to create a new wiki page ;-) It should help document the policy changes that we implement. Feel free to edit the page to describe each policy changed by the patches. I don't think it is overlapping, now that captain convinced me also :-)
Only thing, please make sure to tag these patches as specified in the
patching guidelines, that should help a lot the patch upstreaming
project :-)

I wonder if we should do something similar with patches for .desktop files. Michael. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

one of the things I talked with JP about the patch upstreaming thing was
that we could get rid of the patches to .desktop files. So, yes, we need
to review them and see why we need to patch them so often.

Latest factory build has support for /etc/gconf/gconf.xml.vendor. Now I am working on support for vendor defaults in gconf-editor. Then I will rework some my branding changes to use gconf, if possible (gnome splash). Then somebody should move schemas changes there. Proposed package name (following branding specification): gconf2-branding-openSUSE This package should collect gconf customizations. (I am not sure, whether it is possible to create more such packages after gconf merging of xml files.) -- Best Regards / S pozdravem, Stanislav Brabec software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: sbrabec@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 966, +49 911 740538747 190 00 Praha 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/
