+1 Personally, I'd really like the Evolution RSS plugin to be packaged. <http://gnome.eu.org/evo/index.php/Evolution_RSS_Reader_Plugin> [which is, I think, the only maintained 3rd party Evolution plugin]. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Adam, I like the idea of this plugin. I will give it a go, checking out if this is actually working with Evo 2.32, as we now have in GNOME:Factory. You'll hopefully hear back soon! I'd suggest that this should be merged in evo sources upstream, rather than we packaging it. I've heard that other distros also package it (as I used to see bug reports when I was triaging). OTOH, Even better solution is, About 2 years ago, There were some idea/plans to improve the Evolution plugins infrastructure such that anyone can install a plugin, without relying on the distro to package it, or requiring root access. After all, that's what a "plugin" means, right ;-) ? In fact, iirc, there is already code for loading plugins from an alternative location, (like from under your home directory). But no GUI to install it, and no code exists for plugin version management. But that idea was dropped owing to some team size reduction, Other priorities etc. May be now we can nudge the Novell evo team or ask in evolution-hackers to implement this (FF type) plugin-functionality, rather than every distro packaging plugins themselves. Adam, Willing to test? A new package has appeared and is waiting for submission to GNOME:Apps. In the meantime, the package can be found in obs://home:dimstar:branches:GNOME:Apps; the package is called evolution-plugin-rss. I installed it on my machine (openSUSE Factory, x86_64, fully updated with GNOME:Factory and GNOME:Apps) and so far I like the feature as well! Thanks for the suggestion of adding this package. More people just see more good packages! Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Sorry for the long-delay, I've been swamped. I just checked the repo for this package and it doesn't appear to be there. Has it moved to Factory? The package has since been submitted/Accepted into the GNOME:Apps project and is even part of openSUSE:Factory by now. For 11.3 it currently is only built for users with gnome 2.32 as addition: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/Apps/openSUSE_11.3+GNOME_ST...
