[opensuse-gnome] GNOME 3 Question
I have GNOME 3 installed on my laptop for testing from fcrozat's home repository. It works well and I'm looking forward to the release. The question I have is this: Is there a way to force it into non-openGL mode? Then we would call it gnome 2. If you do not have hardware accel, then it will fall back to the 'panel' mode known from gnome 2.x. Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

That's actually what I want to accomplish. I'd like to test mintmenu with gnome 3's gnome-panel. Will -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Hi i'm afraid that won't be possible since mintmenu is an applet and gnome3 -panel doesn't have applets. Cheers Luis -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Let me fix this for you; "i'm afraid that won't be possible since mintmenu is a bonobo-based applet and gnome3 -panel doesn't support those; mintmenu would have to be ported to the dbus-based library first". Go to System Settings, System Information, Graphics and click the Forced Fallback Mode switch :-) Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org
