[opensuse-gnome] pulseaudio-glitch-free
Hi I'm now running the what-would-be pulseaudio 0.9.11 a.k.a glitch-free, which I've packaged in my home:rodrigomoya:pulseaudio repository. The server is refusing to build the package now because of some rpmlint problems, so if you want to test it (please :-), just get the package with osc and build it locally until I fix the server problems: $ osc co home:rodrigomoya:pulseaudio pulseaudio-glitchfree $ cd home:rodrigomoya:pulseaudio/pulseaudio-glitchfree $ osc build --no-verify openSUSE_11.0 i586 pulseaudio.spec (replace openSUSE_11.0 with openSUSE_Factory if running FACTORY, and i586 with x86_64 if running on 64 bit) Any feedback appreciated, I will submit this to FACTORY in the next few days (if my testing goes well). -- Rodrigo Moya <rodrigo@novell.com> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

does this happen only after running flash in firefox? that is, without running flash, do you see this crash? Just talked with Lennart about this: (11:39:09 AM) rodrigo_: mezcalero: I've just packaged it, and seems some people are having crashes when running flash (11:39:20 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: it should, but i haven't tested it (11:39:38 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: libflashsupport does not solve all problems with flash (11:39:52 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: the way flash destructs the libflashsupport module is racy (11:39:58 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: and impossible to fix from my side (11:40:06 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: hence it might crash or freeze when closing a window (11:40:13 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: but otherwise it should be fine Seems the flash 10 beta fixes all the issues raised by the pulseaudio developers, so please make sure it's a flash issue (run all other audio apps except flash-based), and we'll see at updating to the 10 beta to fix the issue if it's indeed related. -- Rodrigo Moya <rodrigo@novell.com> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Even without flash, audacious stops playing after some time, only thing that come out of it is crackles :) Changing volume triggers it, pausing song for a moment and then playing it again sorts it out. No sound in flash 10 B2 either, no closing window involved.
