[opensuse-gnome] Bug Buddy Suggestion
I've been thinking, would it be a good idea to tie in Bug Buddy into the Novell Bugzilla (or some other place), so that all crashes are sent to us, regardless if its a GNOME application or just another application openSUSE distributes. The following extra metadata can be captured: 1. Packages (and versions) of application and all loaded libraries 2. (Potentially, don't know of zypp can do this): Repository of loaded library. The openSUSE-ified Bug Buddy can send this information up to us, and we can return if there has been updates to the affected packages at the same time. Bug Buddy can then notify the user that there has been updates to the package, and offer to install the updates (via opening YOU, or if PackageKit can be used, via PackageKit). Some other benefits: * If the package was part of the build service or a registered third party repository, the appropriate parties can be contacted. * Once a crash has been fixed, Bug Buddy can notify the user of this and offer to update the package. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org
