Carlos, We only recently started to do backports of GNOME for released versions of openSUSE. This means that we only "support" 11.1 (and Factory) atm. GNOME:STABLE:2.26 is available for openSUSE 11.1 and if you want the development build of GNOME 2.28, it is in GNOME:Factory. Cheers, Magnus On Sat, 2009-06-20 at 13:30 +0200, Carlos E. R. wrote:

The http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/STABLE/ contains: [DIR] openSUSE_10.3/ 23-Jan-2009 02:11 - [DIR] openSUSE_11.0/ 23-Jan-2009 02:12 - [DIR] openSUSE_11.1/ 23-Jan-2009 02:14 - and those dirs are empty of rpms (even for 11.1). The rpms they contained months ago should not have been deleted. However, if your intention is not to support 11.0, then you should remove the parent dirs and not misled users. Anyway, about 11.1... it still buggy, doesn't work on my machine. I have to stay with 11.0. Guess I'll have to make my own. :-/ - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Carlos, My answer does not really address your original topic of the post, but still: I had issues with 11.1 on my machine with the FS falling back to R/O once in a while (typically with heavy load). It did not matter if it was reiserfs or ext3. Just ext3 showed it a bit less frequent. I solved it on my machine with upgrading the kernel to anything more recent from Factory at that time (or Kernel:HEAD). Since then my 11.1 is running great on my machine at home. Perfect uptime, no R/O file systems. Just fun. Maybe it helps you tackle it down. Carlos,
My answer does not really address your original topic of the post, but still:
My issue is that the repositories that existed for gnome have been deleted. One thing is not to package anything more for 11.0, and another is to delete what was already done and ready. Absurd!

No, more recent kernels just do not boot. Simple as that (classical pata support removed; bugzilled). - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
