Does someone have a recipe for installing this? I updated my Live CD installation with the GNOME 3.0 repository; I've installed zeitgeist from Federico's repository but more recently built and installed it from the Launchpad source... either way it installs and runs. When I try to run gnome-activity-journal it fails with the error below. Apparently the offender in this case is python-gstreamer-0_10. An updated package to test with should shortly appear at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/dimstar:/branches:/GNOME:/Fa... Please give this some testing and let me know if it resolves your issue. If it does, I will copy this package over to G:S:3.0.

Thanks, Dominique. I had an error at one point that convinced me to try to upgrade that package, but I already had the latest installed. Now I get the error below (part of which I've also seen before). Should I try starting from scratch (ie. re-installing the OS from my GNOME 3.0 Live stick)? I installed - python-gstreamer-0_10-0.10.21-18.1.x86_64.rpm python-gstreamer-0_10-devel-0.10.21-18.1.x86_64.rpm - from that repo and gnome-activity-journal now starts successfully. Just a note here: I can reproduce it on a Factory install as well. I will try to figure out what's causing it.

Apparently the offender in this case is python-gstreamer-0_10. An updated package to test with should shortly appear at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/dimstar:/branches:/GNOME:/Fa...

(this is for users of openSUSE 11.4 with GNOME:STABLE:3.0 enabled!)

Please give this some testing and let me know if it resolves your issue. If it does, I will copy this package over to G:S:3.0.

Here's what works on my GNOME:STABLE:3.0 32-bit desktop machine... install your python-gstreamer package, then GNOME:STABLE:3.0's gnome-activity-journal + dependencies, then the home:federico zeitgeist-datahub. Activity Journal launches from the Applications Overview and records activities. The Launchpad version also runs from a shell prompt, but doesn't record activities. I re-installed openSUSE from Frederic's GNOME liveinstall 1.2.0 on my 64-bit laptop and repeated the above procedure with the same result. Running the latest Launchpad version gives me a perfectly-formed but empty g-a-j window with the same dbus connection errors Adam is getting.
