That looks particularly bad, as it's a the java parser crashing.. BUT my first reaction is: libmozjs185 should not even be in the process list anymore, a we switched to libmozjs-17. do you have some stale 'manual' installs of gnome-shell in /usr/local? Or any other plugins installed? what does zypper lu -a tell ? The rest of the log is likely less interesting. So I don't actually have 3.9.3 packages... On Fri, Jul 5, 2013 at 7:35 AM, Dominique Leuenberger a.k.a. Dimstar <dimstar@opensuse.org> wrote:

Michael, i'm assuming you do not have compatible repositories enabled. Do you have openSUSE:Factory in your zypper list? GNOME:Factory is an 'addon' on top of openSUSE:Factory (not compatible with openSUSE:12.3 repositories). The library you're missing, libical1 does exist in Factory, so there must be something weird there. Note: for openSUSE:12.3, the latest released GNOME version is from the 3.8 series, which is stable (GNOME 3.9.x is the dev tree of GNOME 3.10; to be shipped in openSUSE 13.1). Hope that helps. Dominique

Thanks, Dominique, I'll check again. I've attempted this upgrade a number of ways, including from a fresh 12.3 install and a Factory Live iso (each time it gets stuck about two-thirds of the way through a zypper dup). Yesterday I started from scratch (reformatting) using the 13.1 DVD iso, so the repositories may be called 13.1 rather than Factory. Fixed! Thanks, Dominique. I changed 13.1 to Factory and (despite a number of perl package casualties) got gnome-shell-3.9.3. Looks terrific! Mike -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+owner@opensuse.org
