[opensuse-gnome] Problem with YaST. I get an error most of the times I install programs
Hello, I get this problem I guess since 12.2. Well this time I tried to install codecs using http://opensuse-community.org/codecs-gnome.ymp After i passed almost everything and was ready to press the final OK button, I got the result: http://paste.opensuse.org/93469334 I kept the yast2logs just in case someone need them. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53534387/misc/yast2/y2logs.tgz Is this a working bug? Do I have to report it? I asked my friends to test it. Well, all of them have KDE and they told me to install yast2-qt package but it didn't solve anything. Do I have to do something else? This used to happen to me a lot on 12.2.
Since you've got y2logs you could report it on bugzilla.novell.com. Or ask on the YaST devel list (maybe it's already been reported), but probably nothing will get fixed unless there's a bug report open.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=808076 and https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=779821 Both are on 12.2. I don't know what to do? Do I have to open one for 12.3? Thanks Stathis Good job, those are both the same issue. I'll reassign the original to 12.3 and close the newer one as a duplicate.
Could you attach your y2logs and your screenshot to the one that's still open, since the line numbers have changed slightly (and the guy who already posted his didn't provide them all).

My KDE friends tell me that yast-qt works fine for them. I thought to replace yast-gtk with yast-qt. What I did was to replace pattern-gnome-yast with pattern-kde4-yast. After restart, I tried again but I had the same problem. A friend told me to replace Yast default GUI. He sent me the address http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/how-faq-forums/ad... So I tried to change to qt but it returned me a script error. When I restarted and tried to install codecs, I saw that there is yast-qt and I installed codecs. The last choise is to turn it to ncurses that I know it works fine. I hope this probelm to be solved soon for us. Thanks Stathis -- http://about.me/iosifidis http://eiosifidis.blogspot.gr http://blogs.gnome.org/eiosifidis Great leaders don't tell you what to do...
