[opensuse-gnome] "tracker" packages not available in neither GNOME:STABLE nor GNOME:Apps repositories

Hello, I'm missing the latest Gnome Tracker packages already a long time in the mentioned additional repositories. Are they broken? René -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Rene, the current status of tracker can be seen at: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=tracker&project=GNOME%3AApps GNOME:STABLE:* does generally only contain upstream gnome stuff, which tracker at this moment is not part of. Thus GNOME:Apps would be the right point. I assume you were interested for it to run on openSUSE 11.3, then. Which currently fails for too old version of sqlite3 in the distribution. Adding a backport would theoretically be possible, but will in the long run, probably become a pain. @Vuntz: What is your opinion here? How much do we invest on 11.1/11.2/11.3 ? Rene,
the current status of tracker can be seen at: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=tracker&project=GNOME%3AApps
GNOME:STABLE:* does generally only contain upstream gnome stuff, which tracker at this moment is not part of. Thus GNOME:Apps would be the right point. I assume you were interested for it to run on openSUSE 11.3, then. Which currently fails for too old version of sqlite3 in the distribution.
Yep, this occurs since 0.9.17.
Adding a backport would theoretically be possible, but will in the long run, probably become a pain.
The main issue here is that sqlite is quite important since many things depend on it, and I don't know if it's okay to provide a new version for 11.3 since it could break other applications :/
@Vuntz: What is your opinion here? How much do we invest on 11.1/11.2/11.3 ?
My opinion is that we've always done that on a best-effort basis: as long as the support for an old version of openSUSE is not too difficult and does not make things complex, we do it. But the main focus for current apps/current GNOME is Factory. At least, for the moment. I want to stress out that we need people to help make sure what we do for released version of openSUSE works: I know I nearly only care about Factory (except for maintenance updates we do, obviously). The work we do for Factory is a lot of work, and fortunately, most of it can easily be reused, at least for the last stable version of openSUSE. But some people need to check for this.
