[opensuse-gnome] Mac style keyboard layout for GNOME
Hi, I have been switching across a mac machine and an openSUSE desktop frequently due to my dayjob requirements. I have always had the control key and the capslock key swapped in my linux boxes to not stress my hand. However, after using the Command key in Mac (roughly in the same position as the left alt), I feel that it is more natural and easier to use. Also, my muslce memory finds it annoying to switch between a Mac keyboard and the thinkpad keyboard (control + t for newtab vs command + t for newtab). So, is there a way to have the Mac keyboard layout as an option for Gnome shell ? I tried Googling but could not find any option to change the keyboard layout. I do not want to change the individual keys and would prefer a global option where left alt becomes control (which I believe will be enough for most common activities). Is it possible to do ? Thanks.
