[opensuse-gnome] +10 in favor of Cinnamon
Hi openSuSers, Dunno if and how much does my thought would care to you but IMHO Cinnamon integration into openSUSE should be a default beside Gnome 3 and other more classics DE. I've installed Cinnamon since few weeks and it gave me a very nice impression, it is fast and has a very friendly usability. I am really appreciating this nice piece of software! Cinnamon is a regression to a primitive paradigm, and it makes a mess of the environment. Once upon a time people had to learn how to click icons, this is no different. I think we should use extensions more liberally, but do not think we should fundamentally change Gnome in this fashion.

On the contrary. The current gnome has made me rush away into the arms of xfce. I have been a gnome fan for 14 years - alas, no more. Good move, yes... :-/ You may be gaining some new users, but you are loosing old users. The same error the kde folks made and forced users to keep kde 3. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. You might want to step up to maintain Cinnamon in openSUSE; I'm not sure we have anybody actively working on it now (unless Nelson kept working on it? Nelson, do you know the status?) It should be very nice and I would be really proud of it Vincent, but I have not the skill to become a package mantainer. Regards, Marco -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+owner@opensuse.org
