Studio is an option but I suggest to take the 11.3 GNOME LiveCD that is build in obs and just adjust it for GNOME 2.32. You might need your repository setup to allow kiwi building but that's it. This might be easier to get you started.
After some fiddling yesterday and several backport packages we now have GNOME:Factory fully built against openSUSE 11.3 again. G:F at the moment is at GNOME 2.31.92 (+/-) and it would be great if we can do some testings.
AJ: Do you have some more information on how to do those images? This might indeed be a very interesting approach.
