Hi
I'm now running the what-would-be pulseaudio 0.9.11 a.k.a glitch-free, which I've packaged in my home:rodrigomoya:pulseaudio repository.
Any feedback appreciated, I will submit this to FACTORY in the next few days (if my testing goes well).
The new packages didn't go down well here, here are the issues:
* Flash in firefox stopped playing, I rebuilt libflashsupport, still it didnt come back * In other application sound stops playing after a while, only thing that come out of speaker is crackling sound
The output when running in shell:
#pulseaudio & [1] 31563 W: main.c: High-priority scheduling enabled in configuration but not allowed by policy. W: core-util.c: setpriority(): Permission denied W: pid.c: Stale PID file, overwriting. W: control.c: Invalid CTL front:0 W: control.c: Invalid CTL front:0 E: socket-server.c: socket(PF_INET6): Address family not supported by protocol E: socket-server.c: socket(PF_INET6): Address family not supported by protocol W: pcm_hw.c: SNDRV_PCM_IOCTL_DRAIN failed W: pcm_hw.c: SNDRV_PCM_IOCTL_DRAIN failed W: pcm_hw.c: SNDRV_PCM_IOCTL_DRAIN failed
After few minutes pa dies with this message:
E: sink.c: Assertion '!s->thread_info.rewind_requested' failed at pulsecore/sink.c:623, function pa_sink_render(). Aborting.

Let me know if you need any tests to be done.
does this happen only after running flash in firefox? that is, without running flash, do you see this crash? Just talked with Lennart about this: (11:39:09 AM) rodrigo_: mezcalero: I've just packaged it, and seems some people are having crashes when running flash (11:39:20 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: it should, but i haven't tested it (11:39:38 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: libflashsupport does not solve all problems with flash (11:39:52 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: the way flash destructs the libflashsupport module is racy (11:39:58 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: and impossible to fix from my side (11:40:06 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: hence it might crash or freeze when closing a window (11:40:13 AM) mezcalero: rodrigo_: but otherwise it should be fine Seems the flash 10 beta fixes all the issues raised by the pulseaudio developers, so please make sure it's a flash issue (run all other audio apps except flash-based), and we'll see at updating to the 10 beta to fix the issue if it's indeed related. -- Rodrigo Moya <rodrigo@novell.com> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org
