Hi,
If you're wondering what's the status of GNOME 3 in openSUSE... Frédéric and Dominique have been working hard to prepare GNOME:STABLE:3.0 and make GNOME 3 available on 11.4. But this is not ready yet.
Let me repeat it: this is not ready yet.
There is no point in asking on irc, on forums, or on mailing lists when it will be ready (and really do not ask directly fcrozat or DimStar while they're working on it :-)) -- this is just slowing the efforts down. Instead, wait for the announcement or go check http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GNOME_3.0 to see the current status.
For people who still decide to use GNOME 3 now (yes, it's possible to get it working, but it requires some plumbing as the upgrade process can break your system): we don't accept bugs about it at the moment, especially "I can't login anymore" bugs.
As for Factory, we'll merge things in GNOME:Factory very soon now. This means GNOME:Factory will likely be a bit broken for a few days.
We'd love to have things already available, but unfortunately, it takes a bit more time than what we'd like :/ But we're nearly there and we mostly need to smooth out the upgrade process to make sure it doesn't break things for users. Thanks for your understanding.
No rush - perfection takes time! Keep up the great work :)
Cheers,
Vincent
