What is the version of Banshee shipping in 11.4? Are we shipping 1.8.0 or 1.9.1 (Ubuntu seems to be shipping 1.9.1).
Is there something in 1.9.1 which makes it noteworthy ?
Even if not, I think what Nelson is trying to target is that any other distribution (*buntu for this matter) ships an app which has it's main development in our circle, in a newer version than we do.
Dominique, The main issue is that the recent changes on libappindicator and libindicate are not implemented in 1.8.0 (which will be the release version on openSUSE), but are implemented in 1.9.1 (which is the release version on Ubuntu). This takes me to: 1. Backport (no know-how from my side); 2. Ditch functionality; So for me, shipping 1.9.1 would be awesome and would allow me to keep functionality, specially when Banshee is so special for our sponsors and for our user base. My true concern isn't marketing related now, it's really related to functionality of SoundMenu and AppIndicator. NM.
