Since there were no objections to this, lets make Empathy default now.
It will be good to provide some migrate-pidgin-logs-to-empathy-format plugin/app along with it. I have years of chat log which I don't want to lose. I binged
a bit and found so many suggestions (from ubuntu forums, some upstream bugs etc.) I however couldn't try out any solution to figure out what is the best
:(
Why do you want to convert pidgin logs to empathy format? I guess they are text files and vi should be enough? Or use pidgin to view only those archived logs and move to empathy.
Nope. The logs are in html format. Even otherwise, I would prefer to open only one application than searching in multiple apps. Also, in future, we may drop pidgin completely (from live-cd, default installation pattern, etc.) once empathy becomes popular and liked by everyone.
