Hi Dominique,
Thank you for your reply, yes you are right those are the options when I click on white-space on the right side of the Nautilus window.
Ok.. then we talk about the same.. good :)
I think I am missing the top bar Nautilus menú as it was on 3.4.2 and also the options for example "create a new file" etcetera; sorry but right now I am on a Windows machine.
Part of the menu moved to the 'GMEnu' (the 'Application Menu' next to "Activities"). That gives likely a few of the options.. most others will be in the cog-wheel in the upper right corner of the nautilus windows.
As for the 'New documents', that's a 'feature': Anything you put into ~/Templates will act as 'New document of specific style'. If you want to be able to just create a 'blank doc', just execute in a terminal touch ~/Templates/Empty\ Document
This will add the specific menu back for you.
It seems "my" Nautilus lacks several options in respect to former version.
Nothing you will be missing in the long run :P
Dominique
...Dunno what's happened on code but after recent zypper updates I found Files with a lot of menu options available.
Good job!
Regards,
After using Gnome Files for a while, I think there is one important thing still missing on usability of the app: it is the possibility to view the entire file-system/folders on the left window pane and at same time choose a specific folder on right pane in order to facilitate the drag/drop of items from one side to the other.
