As a first guess, glib2 is not new enough.
I have come to the conclusion that the G:S repo does not work with SLED SP1 as nothing i use from there produces any working results. I updated glib2 and then pango did install without any problems. My goal= get latest python-gtk in stalled so i can use gpodder 0.10.3. But now that i installed python-gtk, along with dependencies of atk, atk-devel, atk-lang, cairo, cairo-devel
SLED 10 and SuSE Linux 10.1 are more of a problem because of the age of things like hal and dbus.
pango, pango-devel and python-cairo along with python-gobject2, nothing from the GUI will start. No CL, no email, no web browser nothing starts.....I have to back-date all those listed apps to get the GUI working again. Does G:S work with SLED SP1? Better than that, does anyone out there use SLED SP1 (if you do, try to update using the G:S repo and tell me if it works for you).
The issue with glib you found is that while GNOME is backwards compatible its not forwards compatible so G:S in general will be all or nothing (ie you won't have an easy time cherry picking individual packages). -JP -- JP Rosevear <jpr@novell.com> Novell, Inc. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org
