So we should focus on the basic functionality here. Here is my proposal: Basic functionlity: - read/write /etc/sysconfig/lirc settings - set lircd driver, module, device... - select a remote controller model from lirc-remote package or start irrecord and create a new config for the user's controller - enable/disable lirc system service Editing user's config is very complex because ~/.lircrc (or /etc/lircrc) can contain e.g. include ~/.lircd/mplayer Is that sufficient for most users?
