[New: openFATE 314348] Improved usb installer
Feature added by: Michael Doris (dorism) Feature #314348, revision 1 Title: Improved usb installer openSUSE Infrastructure: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Michael Doris (dorism) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: It would be great to be able to select a usb install option on the 'download' page - making it more prominent and integrated for users. I think there should be some guidance on how to boot from usb too on the site as a lot of people may not know how to do this from their bios. Use Case: The use case woudl look something like this - website offers to burn to disk, usb or provide a 'live version' - user selects option to install to usb - the user then accepts the option to download the usb installer - user launches the usb installer - usb installer launches and downloads the appropriate .iso file for that system - once downloaded it offers the option for write image to usb - users confirms and writes iso to usb Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: I think this will encourage adoption since a lot of new devices don't have CD drives any more. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/314348

Also old classical method of making bootable usb drives + (like dd command) can be used. + Read https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Live_USB_stick for more details -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/314348
