[New: openFATE 322302] Proxy ARP for openSUSE
Feature added by: Dean Martin (deano_ferrari) Feature #322302, revision 1 Title: Proxy ARP for openSUSE Package Wishlist: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Dean Martin (deano_ferrari) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: parprouted is a daemon for transparent IP (Layer 3) proxy ARP bridging. I would like to have a parprouted RPM available for openSUSE http://freecode.com/projects/parprouted Use Case: Example: A simple way to create a wireless bridge (whereas a wireless client interface cannot be bridged to an ethernet interface in this manner) AP ---<wlan0>host running parprouted<eth0>---Ext device Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: This is useful for creation of transparent firewalls and bridging networks with different MAC protocols. Also, unlike standard bridging, proxy ARP bridging allows to bridge Ethernet networks behind wireless nodes without using WDS or layer 2 bridging. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/322302
