[New: openFATE 308561] re-install
Feature added by: jean vangand (jeanvangand) Feature #308561, revision 1 Title: re-install openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: jean vangand (jeanvangand) Description: When re-installing openSUSE I would like to have the option of selecting all previous installed applications of a previous openSUSE install ( openSuse has to detect a previous install and look into the Yast package database of the previous install ? ) Instead of searching every single application I've installed before, it would be great if a list with previous installed applications was presented. I can check the ones i need in the new installation and during installation the packages will be downloaded. Now: after a new installation it takes a couple of weeks to get my system back with all needed software/applications. With this feature: Just check the checkboxes of the previous installed applications. After install my system will be 99% like it used to be... "Real" installation time (to a fully functional system) will be many times shorter... -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/308561

If some + repositories are not present then it will install only those + applications that are available. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/308561

The export/import route + for this isn't that difficult for an experienced user but for the folks + that aren't geeks it is a bit more than should be expected of them. + It would be good if it could prompt for missing repositories at install + time so everything could be put back in the new system. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/308561
