I can check the ones i need in the new installation and during installation the packages will be downloaded. Now: after a new installation it takes a couple of weeks to get my system back with all needed software/applications.   With this feature: Just check the checkboxes of the previous installed applications. After install my system will be 99% like it used to be... The export/import route for this isn't that difficult for an experienced user but for the folks that aren't geeks it is a bit more than should be expected of them.
