[New: openFATE 320673] Add support for building Gentoo / Sabayon packages to the Build Service
Feature added by: Brenton Horne (fusion809) Feature #320673, revision 1 Title: Add support for building Gentoo / Sabayon packages to the Build Service Buildservice: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Brenton Horne (fusion809) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: I would like to request that the build service gains the ability to build packages for Gentoo and Sabayon Linux. I realize that most Gentoo users, choose to use Gentoo because they want to compile all their software themselves, so I can understand it if you don't add the ability to build Gentoo packages to the build service. What I really want, however, is for you to add the ability to build Sabayon Linux packages in the OBS. The reason I mentioned Gentoo as well, is because I imagine that if you add the ability to build Sabayon packages to the build service, odds are as Gentoo and Sabayon packages are so similar (in fact, to build a Sabayon package the usual way, you need to first build a Gentoo package for it and then use Sabayon's package manager, Entropy, to convert the Gentoo package into a Sabayon package) you's may also add the ability to build Gentoo packages at the same time. If you want me to provide a testcase, well I suppose, if this capability was added to the build service, I would likely add an ebuild for some of my favourite packages (like Blockify (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:fusion809/blockify) ) to my existing repositories and use these ebuilds to build packages for Gentoo / Sabayon. Thanks for your time, Brenton -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/320673
