[New: openFATE 318022] evolution tnef integration
Feature added by: David Hodgson (jetojedno) Feature #318022, revision 1 Title: evolution tnef integration openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: David Hodgson (jetojedno) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: the tnef plugin for evolution seems to have disappeared from all available repositories. A better solution is for evolution to recognise tnef plugins and unpack them automagically rather than present a winmail.dat file for separate processing. Use Case: Contact sends an email with attachments from outlook or exchange. Attachments are packed as winmail.dat files. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: windows outlook & exchange persist and contacts are unable to easily prevent it from sending these nasty attachments. Opening these attachments is difficult in evolution - the file must be saved somewhere, unpacked using tnef then the attachments found and viewed. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/318022
Feature changed by: Tomáš Chvátal (scarabeus_iv) Feature #318022, revision 2 Title: evolution tnef integration - openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed + openSUSE Distribution: Rejected by Tomáš Chvátal (scarabeus_iv) + reject reason: Unfortunately nobody seem to care about the ytnef + library and the support code, it bitrotted and got so borken it had to + be removed. Thus all recent distros seem to build evolution without + this plugin. If someone would care to shape up the packages in the OBS + it is just matter of switching the variable in the evolution.spec + afterwards.
