[New: openFATE 310013] Disable strigi indexing by default
Feature added by: Marc Schütz (marc_schuetz) Feature #310013, revision 1 Title: Disable strigi indexing by default openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Marc Schütz (marc_schuetz) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Please disable the strigi indexer on KDE4 by default, or at least provide an easy way to disable it globally (i.e. for all users on the system, without changing any user-specific configuration). Note that simple uninstalling the "strigi" package seems not enough: after doing "rpm -e strigi", "rm -rf ~/.kde4" and rebooting, after the next login the nepomuk tray applet still informed me that it is now indexing my home directory. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: All over the web people are complaining about high disk and CPU load caused by it, and it is also said not to handle concurrent access to its databases correctly (e.g. simultaneous login on several machines with home on NFS). -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/310013
