[New: openFATE 316560] Provide minimal CD
Feature added by: Michal Papis (mpapis) Feature #316560, revision 1 Title: Provide minimal CD openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Michal Papis (mpapis) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Visiting http://software.opensuse.org/ there are few installer download options available: - 4.7GB DVD - Live GNOME / KDE - Network Where the first one I consider as waste of space as a lot of the (used/installed) packages is out of date in a week after release. The second option (Live) is only allowing copy of the image without much customization. The Third option (Network) requires downloading installer every time you start installation. Would it be possible to find middle ground and build minimal CDs which include the the installer and possibly the rescue system but do not contain any packages? -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/316560

If I use the DVD, I can add online repos during install. And + that gets me the latest updates. But, I can only use ethernet for that. + The network configuration for adding an online repo does not allow me + to configure a WiFi connection. The Network CD does allow configuring a + WiFi connection. + (Last tested with the DVD for 13.1RC2, and with the Network installer + for 13.1Beta1) -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/316560
