[New: openFATE 310027] Dependencies should be installed when RPM is clicked.
Feature added by: Shawn Rogers (67GTA) Feature #310027, revision 1 Title: Dependencies should be installed when RPM is clicked. openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Shawn Rogers (67gta) Description: EXAMPLE: I download abc.rpm. I click on Foo.rpm. Foo.rpm depends on Foo_data.rpm. Foo_data.rpm is available in the repos, but is not installed. I have to manually install Foo_data.rpm, and then click on Foo.rpm. Clicking on an RPM package should call zypper to pull in dependencies and satisfy Foo.rpm. Debian already does this with gdebi. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/310027

File association says rpm + is set to use Install/Remove Software (package-manager --install %F). + This calls /usr/bin/package-manager, which acording to it's contents is + supposed to call yast or packagekit acording to your desktop DE. I + always get a dialoug similar to Debian's gdebi, but package install + always fails if dependencies are needed. What ever is calling this + dialoug box isn't able to acsess yast to pull in dependencies. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/310027
