I would say it's fine to display the name of people who explicitly set themselves as developers (as opposed to when management assigns a feature to a developer), isn't it? At least, it doesn't sound different from "Watch this feature" which lists your name... #9: Juergen Weigert (jnweiger) (2009-05-01 10:03:29) (reply to #8) German Data Protection Law wants us to expose no work-related personal data unless there is a strong need to do so.I fully agree that it sucks usability-wise when an action has no apparent change. A developer: yes or maybe developer: yes(3) is never in conflict with that law, as it exposes no personal data. Watch-this feature, aka 'Interested: ...' was previously discussed by the council and the use of initials was suggested. Doing the same for developer requires starting another approval process first. I am ready to drive any such approval processes, but getting the language settled and all signed usually takes insane amounts of time. + #10: Klaas Freitag (kfreitag) (2009-05-08 15:25:59) (reply to #9) + I wonder if we could try to get a flag in the openSUSE user management + (which is currently iChain and should evolve over time to something + more generic) that says: "Yes, I allow to make my contributions visible + under my name in the openSUSE ecosystems". That can everybody check if + he/she wants that and than we could display names etc. And if people + agree to that explicitely and without being forced, that is fine with + law. + And: It makes sense :-) -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/306341
