[New: openFATE 317968] Remove Popups from YaST2's GUI
Feature added by: Antoine Saroufim (Vagrant232) Feature #317968, revision 1 Title: Remove Popups from YaST2's GUI openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Antoine Saroufim (vagrant232) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: When navigating between modules of modern control centers like GNOME's Control Center or KDE's System Settings, the user is presented with a single (main) window and every time he/she navigates to a module, that same window displays the content of the desired module. YaST, on the other hand, displays popups for every module or submodule. Software Management in particular can use up to 3 separate windows to install a single piece of software via 1-click install. Most of YaST's modules lock some of the rest from being used. Therefore, the user wouldn't probably use several windows at the same time. While it is completely logical to use popups for dialogues, it is confusing to host every module in use in a subwindow (and possibly more than subwindow). My suggestion is to consolidate YaST into a single main window just like systemsettings5 and GNOME Control Center. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/317968
