[New: openFATE 309291] Add kstart packages
Feature added by: Christoph Bartoschek (pontobart) Feature #309291, revision 1 Title: Add kstart packages openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Christoph Bartoschek (pontobart) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Please add the kstart package into opensuse. http://www.eyrie.org/~eagle/software/kstart/ Use Case: kstart allows users to have long running jobs in a kerberized system. Normally long running jobs get into trouble as soon as their tickets expire. The tools in the kstart package allow users to start long running jobs and be sure that the jobs will always have access to the filesystem. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: We do not want to extend the normal kerberos ticket lifetime for security reasons. However we have some jobs that run for weeks and that need access to the AFS filesystem. The tools from the kstart package provide the jobs with a valid ticket for the whole runtime. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/309291
