Feature added by: Bernhard Wiedemann (bmwiedemann) Feature #311410, revision 1 Title: make braille support in installer work again openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Bernhard Wiedemann (bmwiedemann) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Blind people would like to use Linux. At the moment they need a seeing person to do the install+setup for them. In earlier times, a11y in SUSE Linux was good, but at some point the braille support in the installer was no more working. Test Case: as root run brltty -l 7 -e -n -b xw -x no -A auth=none,host=127.0.0.1:1 -B font='-*-fixed-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1' this should open a braille line in an Xterm as user run a recent KVM: BRLAPI_HOST=127.0.0.1:1 qemu-kvm -cdrom openSUSE.iso -m 1000 -monitor stdio -serial braille 11.4 contains a fix so that you should see something on the braille-xterm during ncurses install. When this feature is done, the text should match the current selection is yast or whatever is considered most useful to "see", to allow doing an install without using the screen. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/311410
