Feature changed by: Vladimirs Kuzmins (vovachaka) Feature #306418, revision 13 - Title: Bluetooth configuration via YaST + Title: Improve Bluetooth Applet → Preferences for /etc/bluetooth/rfcomm. + conf openSUSE-11.2: Rejected by Christoph Thiel (cthiel1) reject date: 2009-06-08 09:09:15 reject reason: Doesn't belong to YaST, but should be doable through the Bluetooth applet in your desktop. Priority Requester: Important openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Joop Boonen (worldcitizen) Description: Corrently is rather complex for a newbee to configue for instance a gps receiver that is connected via bluetooth. Configure /etc/bluetooth/rfcomm.conf rfcomm bind rfcomm0 start gpsd /dev/rfcomm0 It would be helpful is bluetooth and bluetooth devices could be configured via YaST. Discussion: #1: Vladimir Botka (vbotka) (2009-06-05 17:09:56) There are 2 subjects here, which should not be put together 1. bluetooth configuration 2. gpsd configuration I strongly disagree to put the Bluetooth configuration into the YaST. At present the Bluetooth configuration is done via Bluetooth Applet. To create another point of configuration will increase the complexity and increase the possibility of an error. The simplicity should be the main goal nowadays to keep the system maintainable. If rfcomm GUI is required the “Bluetooth Applet → Preferences” is the right place. #2: Christoph Thiel (cthiel1) (2009-06-08 09:08:34) (reply to #1) I agree. #3: Joop Boonen (worldcitizen) (2009-10-15 15:31:57) I agree. The best place to enable is the Bluetooth applet. + #4: Vladimirs Kuzmins (vovachaka) (2009-10-26 16:57:41) + If everyone agree, let us modify a title. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/306418
