Feature changed by: Rajko Matovic (rajko_m) Feature #311010, revision 2 Title: printer-enabled indicator - openSUSE-11.4: Unconfirmed + openSUSE-11.4: New Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: tys lefering (twlevo) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: with yast->printer->edit there is at bottom of that window a little box "Enable Printing" which must be activated to print. When it is not activated and with browser print-page is done there is no indication the printer is not-configured to print. no popup screen or other warning. hplip hp-printing software also has no indication and may use very high cpu even then. some indicator would be nice when trying to print to a configured printer but not set enabled to print yet. also the 11.4 upgrades with 'zypper up' often turn off the printer somehow. + Discussion: + #1: Rajko Matovic (rajko_m) (2010-12-26 12:02:27) + In general status of services should be clearly presented to computer + users to avoid frustration when something works different then + expected. + In this particular description is not clear to me that is not buggy + behavior. It could be just problem within printer driver, or something + like that. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/311010
