Feature changed by: Bruno Canning (iclbmc1) Feature #310256, revision 12 Title: Include bluedevil in 11.4 openSUSE-11.4: New Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Shawn Rogers (67gta) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Bluetooth has always been a weak link in KDE. Bluedevil has been announced, and should be tested, and included in 11.4. We can have native KDE bluetooth that works similar to gnome bluetooth, or blueman. My limited testing includes 2 phones, keyboard/mouse, and headphones. None of these devices would connect with kdebluetooth. All of them setup and connected flawlessly with bluedevil KCM module. The only problem so far is not being able to see files in dolphin when trying to browse phone files. http://www.afiestas.org/bluedevil-the-new-kde-bluetooth-stack-is-here/ (http://www.afiestas.org/bluedevil-the-new-kde-bluetooth-stack-is-here/) Discussion: #1: Felipe Ortiz (f3lip3) (2010-10-14 15:32:42) Great!, but maybe we should be for 11.3 #2: Andreas Jaeger (a_jaeger) (2010-11-29 20:50:58) Package is in openSUSE Build Service, repository KDE:Playground. KDE team, should it go to factory? #3: Jose Ricardo De Leon Solis (derhundchen) (2010-12-05 19:43:05) I believe we should include libbluedevil and bluedevil in the openSUSE 11.4 release since kbluetooth has been deprecated. + #4: Bruno Canning (iclbmc1) (2010-12-07 16:12:01) + Hi Folks, I agree, we should have bluedevil and libbluedevil in 11.4. + I've been testing them with my devices and they work better and with a + lot less fuss than KDE bluetooth. They also seem to be at mature + version numbers, this is what I have: + bluedevil 1.0-1.1 libbluedevil 1.8-1.1 -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/310256
