Feature changed by: Andreas Jaeger (a_jaeger) Feature #311059, revision 5 Title: Installer like Fedora - openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed + openSUSE Distribution: Rejected by Andreas Jaeger (a_jaeger) + reject date: 2011-07-19 11:44:21 + reject reason: See comments and number of votes. Priority Requester: Neutral Requested by: Kim Leyendecker (openlhag) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Maybe you know the Fedora installer. You´ve got four options: - Use all Disk space - Update the existent Linux system - Use free disk place - Do your own partition table This would be a nice and easy to use feature for openSUSE too. Maybe as a additional installation-option, that you can choose. By the way, Fedora-users have it easy to change to openSUSE. What do you think? Use Case: Installation Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: Because we have a easy installation methode and we make it fedora-users easy, to merge in openSUSE Discussion: #1: Jos Poortvliet (jospoortvliet) (2011-01-13 17:34:01) sorry but how is this different from what Yast offers? Could you be more specific? The YaST installer is imho better than what Fedora offers... #2: Jan Engelhardt (jengelh) (2011-01-14 23:02:07) "Installer like Fedora" - no. I do not want an installer which has got a castrated text mode that does not even allow you to set up a custom partition layout. yast is already better in this regard. #3: Roman Bysh (romanator) (2011-01-15 03:31:59) I agree. It's a no from me also. Although we can still improve on the openSUSE installer. I think openSUSE has a solid - very functional installer. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/311059
