Feature changed by: Michal Vyskocil (mvyskocil) Feature #312586, revision 3 Title: Add locales support for groff papersize openSUSE Distribution: New Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Michal Vyskocil (mvyskocil) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Groff's papersize definition in font description don't allow usage of locale variables, even if it will benefit from that. So let's extend the definition for a new keyword 'locale', which will query the setting from existing locale variables (LC_PAPER, LANG or LC_ALL). Discussion: #1: Michal Vyskocil (mvyskocil) (2011-09-29 10:25:44) The submitted patch got a good feedback from upstream maintainer, so it will be a part of a next groff release. I patched groff in openSUSE to have this feature done asap. + Release Notes: Locale support for groff + Solution: + The papersize definition in groff font DESCription file has been + extended by new keyword called locale. In this case groff will + determine the papersize from the country code of LC_PAPER locale. The + default one is a4 and in case of US, Canada, Chile or other country + listed in CLDR 2.0, letter is used. + With this feature SuSEConfig.groff is being removed and /etc/papersize + is no longer owned by groff package. However this file is still taken + into the account and has bigger priority than the locale stuff. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/312586
