Feature changed by: Jedi Beeftrix (Jedibeeftrix) Feature #312919, revision 4 Title: Provide a package for Desura in non-OSS openSUSE 12.1: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Audard Guillaume (agui) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Desura is a video game store, competitor of Steam, which provides many Indie games for Linux and Windows. See www.desura.com They released recently a client for Linux (both 32bits and 64bits), and it could be added to the non-OSS repository. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: Currently, it is quite difficult to install games which are not in the repositories and for which there are not rpms, such as most of the ones in the Humble Bundles. With Desura, you can purchase and install games easily, and it also manages updates. Most indie game developpers don't provide a repository for openSUSE, so you would have to track their website to get updates. For now, to install Desura, you have to go on their website, download a .tar.gz archive, extract it and launch a program in a console. Having it in the repositories would ease the installation for most users.
