Feature changed by: Karl Cheng (qantas94heavy) Feature #312690, revision 4 Title: YaST Software Management -- Install from cache - openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed + openSUSE Distribution: New Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Brian Sherson (shersonb) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Since Software Management allows users the option to save downloaded packages, it would be nice to also give the option of installing a saved RPM. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: Suppose a user, by intent or otherwise, installs a new version of a particular package that has become available in one of the repositories. If the user decides revert to the previous version that was saved from before, it may be convenient to select the old version from Software Management, provided the package exists in the cache. Discussion: #1: Alexander Mityunin (xandry) (2011-08-12 12:43:36) Does so not happening now? If i'm download some packages and press Ctrl+C when zypper work, run zypper in again, packages will be installed from cache. #2: Brian Sherson (shersonb) (2011-08-26 10:40:23) (reply to #1) I am referring specifically to adding an option in YaST Software Management, not a command line parameter for zypper, nor am I referring to the fact that zypper will install from cache if the selected package is already in cache. Specifically, I am suggesting an option to select an old version of an rpm that YaST detects in cache, but is no longer in the online repository from which it originally came (say, if the package has since been updated). -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/312690
