Feature changed by: Michal Svec (msvec) Feature #322073, revision 4 Title: yast should not override ip_forward setting openSUSE Distribution: New Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Bernhard Wiedemann (bmwiedemann) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: someone thought, this bugfix qualifies as feature: http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1010036 Test Case: echo net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 > /etc/sysctl.d/50-ip-forward.conf sysctl --system 2>/dev/null |grep "ip_forward = " should show net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 Use Case: as a system administrator I want to override ip_forward setting in an easily scripted manner by writing my preferred values to /etc/sysctl. d/50-ip-forward.conf Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: manual configuration is deprecated and yast overriding admin's settings should be a thing of the past. Discussion: #1: Karl Cheng (qantas94heavy) (2016-11-22 12:19:08) That's odd that it was filed away as a 'feature', though it seems that this is for SLE as I can't access the bug report. If it is for SLE, could you add a feature request against SLE while logged in? I *think* you can do that but not sure. + #2: Michal Svec (msvec) (2019-01-16 12:50:19Z) + To me this looks clearly like a bug, yast should never override the + user' written settings (I thought we got this fixed ages ago). -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/322073
