Feature changed by: andrea florio (anubisg1) Feature #306354, revision 8 Title: OSC under Windows Buildservice: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: andrea florio (anubisg1) Description: i think that port OSC under windows will be really usefull, everybody know what osc is, but use it under windows can allow me and lots of developer/packager to work on packages even if they are running windows for any reason Discussion: #1: Srinidhi B S (srinidhi) (2009-05-12 15:25:58) +1 I tried running osc under cygwin. It gave me some permission issues. I don't know if the issue is with Perl available in cygwin, osc or just my machine setup. Haven't tried again. #2: andrea florio (anubisg1) (2009-05-12 20:01:04) (reply to #1) i thinked more to native command line tool, perl exist for windows (should be perl32), but i hop to have that tool soon. in last periods, i must work with windows lots of time, and i really would like to be able to use osc also there #3: Pavol Rusnak (prusnak) (2009-05-13 10:58:27) (reply to #2) osc is written in python, so there is no need for perl. I tried to create one monolithic binary (osc.exe) using cxPython or python-freeze (can't remember exactly), but failed, because of the dependency hell. #4: andrea florio (anubisg1) (2009-05-13 12:55:46) (reply to #3) are you able to rember what kind of depencies gave you troubles? #5: Pavol Rusnak (prusnak) (2009-05-13 13:29:38) (reply to #4) I think it was rpm (import rpm) #6: Pavol Rusnak (prusnak) (2009-05-14 16:22:29) (reply to #5) Fortunately the code has changed, so the rpm module is not mandatory and I managed to create an OSC package for Windows. I will post the how- to and the package later today after some testing ... + #7: andrea florio (anubisg1) (2009-05-14 18:26:02) (reply to #6) + greate! IMHO in a windows version the "osc build" feature should be + removed (only a cygwin version may support it) because you now, is not + possible to build rpms there :) -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/306354
