Feature changed by: Gavin S (gav616) Feature #313220, revision 3 Title: Pin down 'ntp' function on installation openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Gavin S (gav616) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: - When installing 12.1 I select to use and sync with an NTP server near - me, but after finishing the install process I check the NTP options in - yast and 9 times out of ten all the options are changed. Sometimes - disciplined clock is there and the single ntp server I selected in the - install process has gone, also the chroot option is checked or not. I - propose that in the install process the simple tick box for 'use NTP - daemon to sync you clock' This tick box would just add three ntp - servers from the users location previous noted from the map above. Also - maybe a check-box asking the user if they connect through a unreliable - connection such as a WiFi which could enable/disable the 'disciplined - clock' option. - Thank You. + I propose in the install process a simple tick box 'use NTP to sync you + clock' + This tick box would just add three ntp servers from the users location + previous noted from the users map location. + Also, maybe an other check-box asking the user if they connect through + a unreliable connection such as a WiFi, which would enable / disable + the 'un-disciplined clock' option. + Business case (Partner benefit): + openSUSE.org: Ease installation and stop ambiguity of pre-set + settings. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/313220
