Feature changed by: Michael Löffler (michl19) Feature #305692, revision 17 Title: Better hardware support in SAX - openSUSE-11.2: New + openSUSE-11.2: Evaluation Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Andrey Karepin (egdfree) Description: For example: * horizontal scrolling on mouse Logitech G5 out of the box and support for additional keys * add to SAX profile keyboard Logitech Wave, with the support of all the extra keys (multemidiynyh and Fn) * add to SAX profile for your monitor Acer P223W (P243W, etc.) and its auto-detect Discussion: #1: Dean Hilkewich (deanjo13) (2009-01-18 06:04:15) I agree that SaX2 needs some TLC. Support for more then one card is badly needed in a day and age where multicard setups are pretty common. I would also like to see better multimedia keyboard support and as well as the possiblity of binding extra buttons right within sax on a mouse. Sometimes there is support for a keyboard but the supporting libraries are not built by the suse team (ie the G15 but no official g15daemon package which is required). #3: Ariel Palmiste (snatzer) (2009-02-15 02:26:32) Yes, mapping extra mouse buttons via sax or something else is really needed. Maybe this should be new feature request? #4: Markus K (kamikazow) (2009-04-25 13:02:44) YaST/SAX has not special features for track pads (en-/disable tap click etc.) #5: Rémy Marquis (spyhawk) (2009-05-02 11:51:21) See also that wiki page : http://en.opensuse.org/Logitech (http://en.opensuse.org/Logitech) I've documented some useful Xorg.conf modifications for the Logitech G5/G7 mouse. #6: Dean Hilkewich (deanjo13) (2009-05-19 00:22:14) (reply to #5) Unfortunately evdev has huge issues with apps (noticably older games) that use SDL and even though being reported for almost a year goes unfixed. http://bugzilla.libsdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=617 -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/305692
