Feature changed by: Damien Radtke (kog13) Feature #308841, revision 6 Title: zypper integration with open build service openSUSE-11.3: Evaluation by product manager Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Michael Meeks (michael_meeks) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: I often want new softare; everything (+ spouse) is in the build service - and searchable via 'osc se'. I want to be able to do 'zypper se-osc uxlaunch' and then install it easily from the build service through that tool (without authentication) - preferably with (whatever) service subscription is necessary hidden from me. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: This would make openSUSE rather more compelling as a distro, and give people access to a wider range of new, and un-blessed software. Discussion: #1: Adrian Schröter (adriansuse) (2010-01-21 12:02:37) changing from build service to openSUSE feature #2: Stephan Kulow (coolo) (2010-03-02 11:55:17) This is primary a zypper feature, but I guess it also need some kind of XML interface in the software search - and it needs to be configurable. Sounds like a neat idea though - it's a nice complement of yast2 webpin #3: Damien Radtke (kog13) (2011-11-02 05:21:53) Any news on this? I would love to have an option flag to zypper commands like search and install that allows it to use the full build service, rather than just subscribed repos. If this is still in the works, then the version will need to be updated. + #4: Damien Radtke (kog13) (2012-02-27 19:11:34) + This would definitely be an incredibly handy feature, especially since + osc isn't in the default repos. You have to go to software.opensuse.org + at least once in a web browser before you can start searching it from + the terminal. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/308841
