Feature changed by: Andreas Jaeger (a_jaeger) Feature #307408, revision 4 Title: Package request: Amaya - Package Wishlist: Unconfirmed + Package Wishlist: New Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Peter Gumbrell (gumb) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Copied from old wishlist: Amaya (http://www.w3.org/Amaya/) : W3C's own all-in-one web editor / browser. Maintained for over 12 years. Features support for HTML, XHTML, XML, MathML, CSS, SVG and other emerging web technologies. Updated regularly and fully cross-platform. Provided under the W3C Software License (http://www.w3.org/Consortium/Legal/2002/copyright-software-20021231) (open source). Wanted by: Website developers, especially standards-compliant ones. Amaya is a very capable web design tool. It helps users to create perfect, standards-compliant code, featuring collaboration tools and all regular formatting with both WYSIWYG and source views, and it also doubles up as a web browser. The only current alternative that provides this sort of functionality is Kompozer, but that's still in an alpha/beta state and is prone to modifying your HTML formatting and producing imperfect results, being aimed more at the WYSIWYG user. The packages provided by the Amaya project often fail to work and nothing happens when I try to run the program on openSUSE 11.1. Any chance somebody could look at this and provide it via the Build Service, or consider its inclusion in future releases? Discussion: #1: Peter Gumbrell (gumb) (2010-08-27 14:36:58) I've noticed Amaya is now provided in the Packman repositories. The package separates out a couple of additional dependencies compared to the Amaya_WX RedHat RPMs available on the website, where it is all bundled in one, but it is working fine on my openSUSE 11.3 installation. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/307408
