[opensuse-factory] Dual display does not work in milestone 3
Hi, I installed milestone 3 yesterday on a system with two displays. During installation, both displays showed the same screen - which is as one would expect. But when, at the end of the installation cyclus, the system boots up, I get a 'no signal' on both displays when entering runlevel 5. Rebooting does not help. I can go to console 1, which gives me 1 display. OpenSuse 11.1 handles dual display OK. System is MSI Master 2FAR, two dualcore Opterons, 2GB memory. NVidia GForce 6200. Displays are Iiyama Vision Master Pro 450 and --- 512. Bug, or not yet implemented in this milestone, ore somthing else? regards, Jogchum Reitsma -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Doesn't seem quite the same, though it looks that way at first sight. But the second advice of Stephan Dirsch is already applied in my case. Hm, as he worded it, I would say he meant either one of the two, not both. Anyhow, I removed (well, renamd...) this nvidia_drv.so, but that made no difference. So I went one step further, and renamed nv_drv.so too. (nvidia_drv.so is a link to nv_drv.so, as you probably know). This time I didn't get a "no signal", but a cursor in the left upper corner. And Xorg.0.log complains about not being able to load nv_drv.so, and ends with a "No screens found". Where Xorg.0.log doesn't complain at all when nv_drv.so is present. Should I file another bug? regards, Jogchum -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Should I file another bug? Try with only one monitor. If it works, could be an issue with nv driver. Maybe you need the Nvidia driver.. Bye.

how do you install the nVidia driver when it complains that the kernel-sources are not installed/configured correctly.
